Concept · dictionary entry
Sovereign Reasoning
Reasoning whose boundary of authority is explicit and inspectable.
Definition
Reasoning is sovereign in the sense used here when the boundary of what it is entitled to conclude is stated and inspectable — not implicit in the training data or the deployment context. A sovereign reasoner refuses conclusions outside its declared boundary rather than extrapolating silently.

- Sovereignty is a property of the declaration, not of the underlying model
- A sovereign declaration can still be wrong; it can be inspected and revised
