Machine Entity

A computational subject whose identity persists across changes of context and evidence.

Definition

A machine entity is a computational subject distinguished by an identity that survives changes of surrounding context, changes of admitted evidence and changes of representational form. Contrast with a stateless function, whose identity is exhausted by its input-output relation, and with a model instance, whose identity is exhausted by its parameters.
